Hall of Famer Willie Mays had a remarkable 1965 season, winning the National League Most Valuable Player award. Mays had an outstanding year both at the plate and in the field. Mays batted .317 with 52 home runs, 112 runs batted in, and 118 runs scored. His 52 home runs led the National League, and he finished in the top five in the league in several other offensive categories. Mays' defense was equally impressive, winning the Gold Glove award and making several highlight-reel catches. Mays' defensive prowess was especially important in a season where pitching dominated, and the Giants relied on his ability to prevent runs as well as score them. Presented is Mays’ game-used glove from his MVP season. MacGregor manufactured KC3 model glove that measures 12.5 inches.
