Tracy Stallard was a Red Sox rookie when he took the mound in Yankee Stadium on the last day of the 1961 season. In the fourth inning, he allowed the only run of the game-Roger Maris' record breaking 61st HR. The 6' 5" Stallard said "I have nothing to be ashamed of. He hit 60 others didn't he?" On the left front tail of the jersey is the "McAuliffe" label and below is the size tag "42." Next to this is the year tag "62." Across the front of the jersey is the name "Red Sox" and on the back is the player number "39." Both the name and number are made of red on blue felt. The seams on the upper right front are ripped. The jersey shows game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind.
