If you are a basketball fan and a fan of Wilt Chamberlain, this is an event that started him on his legendary career. In the summer of 1959, at Kutsher's Country Club in Monticello, New York, Wilt played in the annual Maurice Stokes Game. While in high school, Wilt worked at Kutsher's and became good friends with the owner, Milt Kutsher. Wilt had just signed for his rookie season with Philadelphia and was invited to play a game with all the great NBA stars of the time. Players like Cousy, Schayes, Ramsey, Kerr, Heinsohn, Twyman, Guerin and Costello were among the top 20 NBA scorers the previous year. Wilt scored 20 points, grabbed 15 rebounds and blocked 14 shots. He was named the game's MVP after having played in only one half of the game. This is that near-mint trophy, with the jersey that he wore that day. It also comes with a copy of the book "Wilt" which describes the game on pages 101-102. In the neck of the jersey is the "Powers" label and below this is the size tag, "40." Across the front of the jersey is the name "Kutsher's" and on the back is the player number "13." The name and number are made of black tackle twill. The jersey shows game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind.
