George Strickland was a smooth fielder with an accurate arm, and he led AL shortstops in double plays in 1953 and fielding in 1955. He shares the ML shortstop record with five double plays in a game (9/27/52.) On the left front tail of the jersey is the "Wilson" label and adjacent is the size tag, "42." Below this is the year "1952" in black chain stitch. Across the front of the jersey is "Indians" in script-style letters and on the back is the player number "2." Both the name and number are made of red on blue felt. On the left sleeve is Cleveland's "Indian Head" patch. The jersey shows game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind.
