This issue was created specifically for distribution at the 1939 World's Fair. The squarebound issue had a cover price of 25 cents, which led to poor sales because all other books from this period were being sold for only 10 cents. The publisher, DC was forced to re-price it at 15 cents and sold it via mail-order. This important issue has interesting features, such as Superman's image on the cover with blond hair and the first published appearance of the Sandman! A great Vincent Sullivan cover with brilliant colors and nice clarity. A solid mid-grade example with excellent eye-appeal. High grade examples are virtually non-existant. Graded VG/FN 5.0 by CGC with cream pages.
