Simply put, Babe Ruth not only changed the game of baseball but he did more for American sports than any athlete before or after. The son of a tavern owner, Ruth grew up to become one of the most famous faces in the world and that face graced many products and most certainly earned him a king's ransom in royalties. One such item is this example of "Babe Ruth's Baseball Game". The board game is housed in a box that pictures Ruth on the cover and has his facsimile signature underneath. Around the edges of the cover is the statement "My own authorized baseball game, Babe Ruth." The rules to the game and a scorecard are printed on the inside of the cover. The interior of the box has a mock baseball field printed on it. Also on the inside is a compartment that houses several red and blue game pieces as well as the cards to play the game. The box is in overall very good condition with the only major detractor being wear to the edges of the cover, including a slight tear that has been repaired and several others that have not. The cards inside are in excellent plus condition with only a few grading lower, due to some writing on them. Overall the game has tremendous eye appeal and will be a treasured display piece.
