Hall of Famer Jimmie Foxx was one of the most dominant offensive forces in the MLB as he put together 12 30-home run seasons and 13 100-RBI seasons. He captured 3 American League MVP Awards, was selected to nine All-Star teams and took home the American League Triple Crown in 1933. When he retired in 1945, his 534 career home runs were second to only Babe Ruth and the most by any right-handed batter in big league history. This Hillerich & Bradsby manufactured bat measures 35 inches and weighs 32 ounces. The bat exhibits evidence of heavy game use. Numerous stitch and seam marks can be found above the barrel stampings. Below the barrel stampings is the presence of deadwood, the separation of the grain from repeated contact of bat to ball. There is an area of slight deadwood on the reverse of the bat. Cleat marks are also scattered throughout the barrel of the bat. The bat was at one time side written, however no writing is currently readable and restoration was done on the knob. It appears restoration was done on the handle to repair a crack. Accompanied by a MEARS LOA grading the bat an A7.
