The Eastern Colored League was founded and set up by Ed Bolden in 1923 as the second major Negro League circuit. The ECL ran until 1928. From 1924 to 1928 the ECL and Negro National League champions met in the Negro World Series to determine the top team in black baseball. This cable knit cowl neck sweater with 6 original buttons is in outstanding condition for its age. Across the chest reads “BROOKLYN” in felt letters. A rare vintage piece from the Negro Leagues.
