1912 was a magical year in the history of the Boston Red Sox. Owner John Taylor moved his team from the Huntington Avenue Grounds to the new Fenway Park. The park, located in the Fenway section of Boston, hosted it's first game on April 12, 1912 when the Red Sox defeated the New York Highlanders 7-6 in 11 innings on a Tris Speaker single. The Red Sox continued their great play throughout the season and finished with the best record in Red Sox history (105-47). They met and defeated the New York Giants in the first true World Series pitting the National and American leagues. This 14" x 22" poster has a red pennant attached to a shillaly that says "Red Sox Champions 1912". A black and white team photo appears underneath the pennant with the players names listed to the left, including such greats as Tris Speaker, Duffy Lewis, Harry Hooper, Jake Stahl and "Smokey" Joe Wood. The VG-EX conditioned poster is mounted in a 20" x 28" glass frame.
