With a guest list that includes Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Theodore Roosevelt, Jack Dempsey, Grantland Rice, James J. Braddock, William R. Hearst, and Cornelius Vanderbilt Jr., Robert Ripley's Testimonial Dinner must have been quite an event. The cover of the menu has been signed by "Pop" Warner and Lou Gehrig. Gehrig has inscribed the menu in blue fountain pen and it reads, "To Christy Jr.- With Kind Regards-." Gehrig's signature rates an 8 due only to the location of his signature over some of the printing on the program. This does not detract from the visual appeal of this piece. The program measures 8-1/2" x 11" and unfolds to reveal the itinerary for the evening, a complete list of committee members and the actual dinner menu. The overall condition of the program is excellent.
