Willie Stargell is a first-ballot Hall of Famer inducted in 1988. Inside on the sweatband is a “New Era PRO MODEL” manufacturer’s tag. Adjacent is a “7 1-4” size tag. Stargell signed on the underside of the brim in black marker and in our opinion, rates a 7-8. His number “8” is written in the same area. “08” is also written on the front inside sweatband. The front of the hat has a “P” embroidered in yellow stitching. Seven of his own “Stargell Stars”, which were awarded to and proudly worn by his teammates in recognition of great play, are affixed to the brim in black and yellow stitching. This hat is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows excellent use. Accompanied by an LOA from JSA.
