7-¾” x 9-¼” handwritten letter from Babe Ruth to “Little” Johnny Sylvester. The message is misdated Oct. 9th 1923 but was sent in 1926, the date of Game 6 of the 1926 World Series. The Bambino writes, “To My Friend John Sylvester, Just a few words reminding you that I have not forgotten my sick little pal sorry I couldn’t get out to see you but here’s hoping this little message of cheer find you well on the road to recovery, I will try to knock you another homer maybe two today. Best regards from your friend and rooter, “Babe” Ruth.” The letter is penned in black fountain ink and in our opinion the beautiful, large signature rates a near 9. The letter is written on letterhead from “American League Base Ball Club of New York” (New York Yankees) with the address of the team’s offices on 42nd Street as well as the Stadium on 161st. The letterhead also lists “Jacob Ruppert, President” as well as “E.G. Barrow, Secretary”. The letter has three horizontal creases where it was folded into quarters. The letter is in VG-EX condition and appears to have been trimmed from its original 8-½” x 11” letter size. Accompanied by a Full JSA LOA as well as a letter from “Little” Johnny’s son, John Sylvester, Jr. You will be hard-pressed to find a finer Ruth letter.
