An unstoppable player who could dominate his opponents with piercing drives to the hoop or with a superior jump shot, Elgin Baylor had tremendous body control enabling him to hang in the air. After an All-America career at Seattle University, he turned pro and earned NBA Rookie of the Year honors in 1959 with Minneapolis. In his 14-year career with the Lakers, Elgin played in 11 All-Star games and was named to the All-NBA First team 10 times. Baylor scored 23,149 points in only 846 games, and averaged more than 30 points per game in three of his seasons. He was named to the NBA's 35th Anniversary team, and was selected as one of the NBA 50 Greatest Players in 1996. Silver Relief medallion. In excellent condition; very slight wear on tip of nose.
