Bill Gadsby was the first defenseman to record at least 500 points and was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1970. Gadsby was a First Team All-Star three times and a Second Team All-Star four times. In 1998, he was listed on The Hockey News list of the 100 Greatest Hockey Players. When he retired, he was the league’s career leader for a defenseman in games, points and penalty minutes. The presented wool barber pole sweater is Gadsby’s last Captain’s jersey and features a Rayson Sports manufacturer’s tag inside the rear left tail with an attached flag tag reading the size “50”. Numerous repairs are seen throughout the front, back and on both sleeves of this beautiful eye appealing relic. The Captain’s “C” patch on the upper left chest has been removed with a clear outline remaining. The iconic Blackhawks team logo crest is embroidered on the front with blood staining. Across the back is the player number “4” in white on red tackle twill that is stained. A tremendous piece of hockey history that is a museum quality piece. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows outstanding use. Accompanied by a Photo-Match.com LOA and a Selby Colson LOA.
