Carl Eller was a major factor in the Minnesota Vikings unit known as the "Purple People Eaters". With Eller the Vikings won the 1969 NFL championship and NFC crowns in 1973, 1974, and 1976. Eller was one of 10 Vikings to play in all four of their Super Bowls and was selected to play in six Pro Bowls. Eller is credited as the Vikings all-time sack leader with 130½ and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall Of Fame in 2004. On the front left tail is the Sand-Knit manufacturer’s tag size “52” with washing instructions. Adjacent above is the “Designed & Tailored Exclusively for the Minnesota Vikings” Sand-Knit tag. Across the front, on both sleeves and on the back is the player number “81” screened in purple. Across the back on a white nameplate is the player name “ELLER” in purple tackle twill. Eller signed the back of the jersey inside the “8” in silver marker with the added inscription “HOF 04” and in our opinion the signature rates a 9. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows light use. Accompanied by a LOA from JSA and a LOA from Photo-Match.com grading the jersey an 8.
