In 1971 Alan Page was named both the AP NFL Defensive Player of the Year (the first player to be named such) and the AP’s NFL Most Valuable Player. Page was the first defensive player to be named MVP since the award’s inception. Page also earned All-Pro honors six times and made Second-team All-League three additional times. He was voted to nine consecutive Pro Bowls. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall Of Fame in 1988 and has his number 88 retired by the Vikings. On the front left tail is the Sand-Knit manufacturer’s tag size “50” with washing instructions. Adjacent above is the “Designed & Tailored Exclusively for the Minnesota Vikings” Sand-Knit tag. Across the front, on both sleeves and on the back is the player number “88” screened on in purple. Across the back on a professionally restored white nameplate is the player name “PAGE” in purple tackle twill. There are multiple repairs on both shoulders. Page signed the back of the jersey inside the second “8” in silver marker and in our opinion the signature rates a 7. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows outstanding use. Accompanied by a LOA from JSA and a LOA from Photo-Match.com grading the jersey an 8.
