This offering is a rare style of batting helmet worn by the Cincinnati Reds for several years, most importantly during the 1961 campaign. Batting helmets were, in the early days, shared by team members and often used for several seasons until they were beyond repair. Inside the shell is the American Baseball Cap manufacturers tag size “7 1-2”. Hand painted on the front is the Reds team "C" logo. The helmet shows nice game use and is uncracked. Overall a terrific helmet with all padding inside intact.
