The Presidential document from Grover Cleveland appoints an individual “First Lieutenant in the First Regiment of Artillery” and is dated August 9th, 1886. Cleveland signed on the appropriate line in black ink and in our opinion the signature rates a 7. Cleveland’s Secretary of War signed to his left and the document has the proper “UNITED STATES WAR OFFICE” seal in the bottom left corner. The New York state document is made out to Louis Sherrill and Cleveland signed on the bottom and the signature is heavily faded. Age appropriate fading to the ink and documents is present. Accompanied by a LOA from JSA and a PSA/DNA LOA.
