Hall of Famer and the 1971 ABA Rookie of the Year Dan Issel scored his 5,000th career point on March 28th, 1972 in a 136-134 victory over the Pittsburgh Condors. Issel scored a team high 29 points in the game. The offered ABA game-used basketball is the actual ball that Issel used to score his 5,000th point. Rawlings manufactured “Official ABA” red, white and blue color-schemed basketball with a great vintage look and feel. The ball features a stamped commissioner signature. Issel signed the ball in black marker with the added inscription “3/28/72 Colonels vs Condors 5000 point game” and in our opinion the signature rates a near 10. Also included is a wooden stand with an engraved plate reading “5,000 PTS. 1972-ABA”. Accompanied by an Issel LOA and a Full JSA LOA.
