Frank Mason III had a remarkable career at the University of Kansas, establishing himself as one of the program's all-time greats. Mason's senior season in 2016-2017 was remarkable, averaging 20.9 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 5.1 assists per game, earning him consensus First Team All-American honors and the Naismith Trophy as the nation's top player as well as the AP player of the year. Mason led Kansas to its 13th straight Big 12 regular-season title and a number one seed in the NCAA Tournament. Presented is Mason’s AP college basketball player of the year trophy. The base measures approximately 17” and stands approximately 31” tall. The trophy reads “THE ASSOCIATED PRESS COLLEGE BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE YEAR Frank Mason III University of Kansas 2016-17”. The top of the trophy features a gold colored basketball. A few dents present on the ball and one arm is detached. An incredibly rare offering of this prestigious award.
