Ben Coates played ten seasons in the NFL after being drafted by the New England Patriots in 1991. Coates was elected to the Pro Bowl five times, and is a member of the New England Patriots Hall of Fame. After nine seasons with the Patriots, Coates signed with the Baltimore Ravens and made his way back to the Super Bowl after losing to the Packers in Super Bowl XXXI. The result would be different this time around with Coates and the Ravens dismantling the New York Giants of the NFC with a 34-7 victory, one of the most dominant defensive performances in Super Bowl history. Coates retired following the 2000 season and at the time his 499 receptions for 5,555 yards and 50 touchdowns made him the fourth all-time leading receiver at tight end in NFL history. This size 13.5, 14k gold players ring weighs a whopping 61 grams! It was presented to Ben Coates after he and his Baltimore Ravens teammates won Super Bowl XXXV. The top panel reads “WORLD CHAMPIONS” and features a silver inlay designed to look like a football field along with a Raven logo made up of 56 small round-cut yellow diamonds, 13 small round-cut diamonds and a .10-carat round-cut ruby. The end zones are comprised of 35 small round-cut diamonds along with approximately 38 square-cut diamonds underneath the silver field. The outer perimeter of the ring is lined with an additional 40 small round-cut diamonds. The dazzling ring has a total diamond weight of approximately 2.85-carats.The left panel features the player name “COATES” in relief above the casted image of a banner that reads “SET THE STANDARD”, the Ravens’ shield logo, the player number “81” and a banner that reads “INVICTUS”. The right panel reads “2000” in relief above the casted image of the Super Bowl XXXV logo and banners reading “RAVENS 34”, “GIANTS 7”. Adjacent below is the casted image of PSINet Stadium (now M&T Bank Stadium), a Vince Lombardi Trophy with a .10-carat marquise-cut diamond and a banner reading “INVICTUS”. The inside of the ring is stamped “© 14K” and engraved with the player name “Ben Coates”. The ring is in NM condition with light wear and is accompanied by an LOA from Ben Coates.
