The most dominating relief pitcher in baseball history, Mariano Rivera owns the all-time MLB record for saves. The future first ballot Hall of Famer Rivera is a five-time World Series champion, World Series MVP and has his No. 42 retired by the New York Yankees franchise. On the front left tail is the Russell Athletic Diamond Collection manufacturer's tag size "46" with washing instructions. On this tag is a Steiner hologram. Attached below is a flag tag reading "100% Polyester" and a strip tag reading “RIVERA 97”. On the left chest is the Yankees "NY" interlocking logo and on the back is the player number "42". All numbering and lettering is done in navy blue tackle twill. This jersey is sans the “Jackie Robinson 50” anniversary patch that was worn during the 1997 season, but we have seen images of the Yankees during Spring Training 1997 playing without the Robinson patch on the right sleeve. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as Spring Training game-used and in our opinion shows appropriate use. Accompanied by a Steiner LOA.
