This size 11, 14k gold prototype ring weighs 38 grams. It was produced by Jostens after the Yankees won the 1996 Fall Classic and is similar to the final design that Balfour used for the rings. The top panel reads “WORLD CHAMPIONS 1996” surrounding a blue synthetic stone and the Yankees’ interlocking “NY” logo encrusted with 23 round-cut diamonds to commemorate the franchise’s 23rd Championship. The ring has a total diamond weight of roughly .66-carats. The left panel reads “STEINBRENNER” in relief above the casted image of the Yankees’ top hat logo. The right panel features the famous frieze of Yankee Stadium in relief above the casted image of the Commissioner's Trophy and two banners that read “TRUST” and “COURAGE”. The inside of the ring is stamped “© 14K” along with the Jostens “J” logo. The ring is in MINT condition and is accompanied by an additional LOA.
