“Mr. Padre” was an eight-time National League batting champion, which is tied for the most in NL history, has his No. 19 retired by the San Diego Padres franchise and was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 2007 on the first ballot. The 15 time All-Star wore this jersey in the 1989 All-Star game held in Anaheim. Gwynn went 1-2 in the game with a stolen base. On the inside front left tail is the Rawlings manufacturers tag size “46” with washing instructions. Attached are two flag tags reading “SET 1 1989” and the player number “19” embroidered in brown. On the right sleeve is the official “1989 ALL-STAR GAME” patch with a Rawlings logo embroidered below. On the left chest is the Padres “SD” logo. Across the back is the player name “GWYNN” and beneath this is the player number “19”. All numbering and lettering is done in the same brown on orange tackle twill. Gwynn signed the front of the jersey in black marker and in our opinion the signature rates a 6. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows appropriate use. Accompanied by a LOA from JSA and a Photo-Match.com LOA confirming the match and grading the jersey a perfect 10.
