Once every generation, a player comes along who can truly be called a superstar; Larry Bird was such a player. For 13 seasons with the Boston Celtics Larry personified hustle, consistency and excellence in all areas of play--as a scorer, a passer, a rebounder, a defender, a team player and, perhaps above all, as a clutch performer. Bird was the embodiment of "Celtics Pride." He was a classy, confident, hardworking player who thrived on pressure and inspired teammates to excel. An obsessive perfectionist, Bird was idolized by Celtic fans and basketball purists of all allegiances. With Bird as the focal point of a well--rounded squad, the Celtics won three NBA titles and ten Atlantic Division crowns. On the left front tail of this road mesh jersey is the year tag "88" and below is a label reading "2"LB" denoting three extra inches in body length. Both these labels are done in black Swiss embroidered stitch. Next to the year tag is the Boston Celtics exclusive label and below is the "Sand-Knit" label with the size "46." Across the front of the jersey is the name "Celtics" and on the back is the name "Bird." The player number "33" appears on both the front and back of the jersey. All the letters and numbers are made of white tackle twill. On the upper left front is the "NBA" patch. The jersey shows game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind.
