Hall of Fame goaltender Eddie Giacomin began his NHL career with the Rangers and spent parts of 11 seasons with the team. Giacomin was among the finest goalies of his generation, winning a Vezina Trophy in addition to playing in 6 NHL All-Star games. Giacomin was such a New York fan favorite that when he returned to MSG just 2 days after being traded, the Rangers faithful booed their own team after scoring on a night that goes down as one of the 50 greatest moments in MSG history. Inside the rear collar is the Gerry Cosby manufacturer’s tag with an attached box tag reading the size “48”. The garter style fight strap is intact. Diagonally across the front reads “RANGERS”. The player number “1” is on both sleeves and on the back and across the back is the player name “GIACOMIN”. All numbering and lettering is done in blue on red tackle twill. The tie down strings have been removed from the collar. Hockey related wear is present throughout including stick and puck marks, pilling from Eddie’s gloves at the cuffs and sweat staining. This is the best Giacomin jersey in the hobby and is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows outstanding use.
