Billed as “The Fight Of The Century”, Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier was the first time that two undefeated boxers fought each other for the heavyweight title. In perhaps the greatest boxing match of all time, a sold out crowd of 20,455 filled Madison Square Garden in New York City. Via unanimous decision in 15 rounds, Frazier retained his championship and handed Ali his first professional loss. This offered item is one of Ali’s cashed checks from the fight. Dated “March 10 1971” (two days after the fight) the payment is made to the order of “Muhammad Ali’ for “$348,535.67” and is signed by Robert Arum in blue pen. Written in pen in the top left corner reads, “ROBERT ARUM, ALI ACCOUNT”. On the back, Ali signed in pen and our opinion rates a 7 overall. This is a unique, autographed Ali piece is from arguably the most important boxing event in the sport’s history. Accompanied by a full JSA LOA.
