Rollie Fingers was known for more than his fantastic handlebar mustache. Fingers is a three-time World Series champion, a four-time Rolaids Relief Man of the Year and three-time MLB saves champion. He won the American League Most Valuable Player Award and Cy Young Award in 1981. Fingers was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame In 1992 and in doing so, became only the second reliever to be elected. On the front left tail is a “McAULIFFE UNIFORM CORP.” manufacturer’s tag with “69” year flag tag and a size “42” flag tag attached below. On the left chest is the team’s, “A” logo and the player number “34” appears on the right chest and on the back. All numbering and lettering are done in green on yellow tackle twill sewn directly onto the vest. Below the team’s, “A” logo is a “100TH ANNIVERSARY” patch embroidered. Below the front player number, Fingers signed the vest in blue pen and in our opinion rates a 7-8 overall. There is light spotting on the front of the jersey and dirt staining on the lower back. The back player number “3” has two small tears in the tackle twill. This jersey was originally sourced from a team scout. Appears to be in all-original condition. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows excellent use. When this jersey was presented to Fingers, the Hall of Famer remarked ‘Those damn scouts took everything’ and penned his autograph. Accompanied by a full JSA LOA, an additional LOA that grades the jersey an A9 and second additional LOA.
