Sam Jones spent all of his twelve seasons in the NBA with the Boston Celtics who drafted him in the first round in 1957. Jones played on ten championship teams, a total exceeded only by teammate Bill Russell in NBA history. Elected to the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1984 and a Top 50 All-Time player. Offered is the final jersey Jones would wear in his Hall of Fame career. The game happened to be Game Seven of the 1969 NBA Finals, a game the Celtics won 108-106 to take home the Championship over the Los Angeles Lakers. Jones scored 24 points in what would be his final NBA game as he retired as a Champion. On the front left tail is the Wilson manufacturer's tag size "42". Across the front is "CELTICS." Below that and on the back is the player number "24." All lettering and numbering is done in white tackle twill. Jones signed on the front number in black marker with the added inscription “HOF 83” added and in our opinion the signature rates a 9. The jersey shows game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows excellent use. An incredibly rare offering of the final jersey ever worn by a NBA legend. Accompanied by a Full LOA from JSA, a Basketball Hall of Fame LOA and a Photo-Match.com LOA confirming the match.
