Mickey Mantle played his entire 18 year career for the New York Yankees. He won 3 American League MVP titles and played in 16 All-Star games. Mantle appeared in 12 World Series, winning 7 of them. He still holds the records for most World Series home runs (18), RBIs (40), runs (42), walks (43), extra-base hits (26), and total bases (123). He is also the career leader in walk-off home runs, with a combined 13 in regular season and post-season play (12 regular, 1 postseason). He won the Triple Crown Award in 1956. He is regarded by many to be the greatest switch hitter of all time and one of the greatest players in baseball history. Mantle was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1974. Manuf: H&B, Model: K55, Length: 36 in, Weight: 34 oz, Wood: Ash, Condition: Uncracked. Several hit/ball marks are visible on the left, right and back barrel. There is a light coat of pine tar on the mid handle. The ounces of the bat (34.3) are marker on the knob end in pencil. Mantle has signed and inscribed the right barrel “To Fritz and Chip My Best Wishes Mickey Mantle” in black marker rating a 9, signed over a ball hit mark. Overall: Excellent with Moderate game-use. The provenance on this bat is absolute; it was a gift from Mantle to NY Yankee teammate Fritz Peterson to whom the bat is autographed and inscribed. It is accompanied by two letters of provenance discussing the bat’s history. Further accompanied by a LOA from PSA/DNA graded a 9 as well as a LOA from JSA for the signature and inscription.
