Roger Maris won three World Series championships, was a back-to-back MVP and also won a gold glove during his career. Presented here is a beautiful example of an outfielder's glove worn by Maris during the 1965 season. The Spalding manufactured 42-217 model glove sizes out to 11.75 inches. The brown leather glove features a super flex web style and displays evidence of excellent use in the pocket, face of the web and throughout the body. The glove is constructed of Spaldings top grade, tanned steerhide bound with tanned rawhide laces and nylon stitching. Featured is a conventional back with a fleece lined adjustable “X Laced Wrist” strap and a dual laced “E- Z Flex” palm hinge. The manufacturer’s labeling includes a Spalding wrist label with “Spalding” foil stamped on the heel. A rare offering from this Yankee great, the glove is accompanied by a PSA/DNA LOA.
