Bob Turley was traded to the New York Yankees after the 1954 season and played for the Yankees from 1955 to 1962. His best year was 1958, when he won 21 games and lost seven. As a result, he won the Hickok Belt as top professional athlete of the year, the Cy Young Award as the best pitcher in Major League Baseball, and the World Series Most Valuable Player Award. This size 12, 14k gold players ring weighs 32 grams. It was presented to “Bullet Bob” Turley after he and his New York Yankees teammates were crowned kings of the American League in 1957. Turley appeared in three games during the ‘57 Fall Classic, including a complete game victory in Game 6. The top panel reads “AMERICAN LEAGUE CHAMPIONS” in relief surrounding the Yankees’ top hat logo encrusted with rubies, diamonds and sapphires. The ring has a total gem weight of approximately .25-carats. The left and right panels are identical; each reads “1957” in relief above the casted image of a baseball. The inside of the ring is stamped “BALFOUR 14K” and is engraved with the player name “Robert L. Turley”. The ring is in MINT condition and is accompanied by an additional LOA.
