Extraordinary 1938-1939 Jimmie Foxx game-used half bat, signed by twenty-five members of the 1939 Boston Red Sox. Accompanied by an LOA from PSA/DNA certifying it as a game-used Foxx bat. The bat measures 35 inches and weighs 14.7 ounces, has been cut in half, to accommodate the black fountain-pen signatures of the following twenty-five members of the Red Sox: Ted Williams, Lefty Grove, Joe Cronin, Bobby Doerr, Hugh Duffy, Moe Berg, Lou Finney, Jim Bagby, Emerson Dickman, Doc Cramer, Red Nonnenkamp, Bill LeFebvre, Jim Tabor, Boze Berger, Eldon Aucker, Joe Heving, Joe Vosmik, Jack Wilson, Gene Desautels, Fritz Ostemueller, Danny Galehouse, John Peacock, Tom Carey, Charlie Wagner, and Tom Daly. A neatly printed black fountain-pen inscription on the upper handle reads "Boston Red Sox 1939/2nd Place." The signatures range from 4-8 in our opinion. 1939 was Williams' rookie season. As noted in the accompanying LOA from PSA/DNA, even though this is a half bat, it can still be verified as a Foxx gamer. The bat displays evidence of excellent use, including several ball marks and stitch impressions on the right and left barrel. A slight crack can be seen in the handle and there is a six-inch wrap of vintage black tape on the handle that covers most of it. This is an outstanding Boston Red Sox team-signed item. Accompanied by a PSA/DNA LOA and a Full JSA LOA.
