These Ruth pants were in the bank vault with the jersey attributed to the "called shot" in the previous lot. Due to the nature of baseball pants, there are no numbers or other lettering visible on the exterior and therefore all but impossible to photo match. As they were found with the jersey, we presume that these pants are the ones worn by Ruth when hitting that infamous home run. At the very least, these are indeed a pair of Babe Ruth game-used pants. In the waistband is the player name "Babe Ruth" in red chain stitch. The waist measures approximately 44 inches. Also present is the "A. G. Spalding" manufacturer's label. Customary of other Ruth game pants that are known, the pant legs have been trimmed. At the bottom of each leg is discoloration that can be attributed to the tucking in to the top of his socks, which can be seen in nearly every photograph of Ruth in uniform. They show even wear throughout and the right leg exhibits a team repaired tear that runs the length of the shin.
