The cover of the Wells contract reads, “AMERICAN LEAGUE PLAYER’S CONTRACT - American League Base Ball Club of New York With Edwin Wells of Birmingham, Ala”. The body of the contract states that Werber earns “an aggregate salary of $8,000”. The second-to-last page is signed in a secretarial Jacob Ruppert signature in black ink and Werber in blue ink and in our opinion the signatures rate a combined 7. The cover of the Brown contract reads, “AMERICAN LEAGUE PLAYER’S CONTRACT - American League Base Ball Club of New York With Walter Brown of New Orleans, LA”. The cover has the signature of the American League president Ernest Barnard and is dated, “March 24 1931”. The body of the contract states that Werber earns “an aggregate salary of $500 per month”. The second-to-last page is signed in a secretarial Jacob Ruppert signature in black ink and Werber in blue ink and in our opinion the signatures rate a combined 5 with some water damage on them. Dr. Painters Memorandum Of Agreement states that he will earn “the aggregate salary of $5,000 for the term above named” and is dated October 16, 1930. Painter signed the bottom of the memorandum in grey ink and in our opinion the signature rates an 8. Accompanied by a LOA from JSA.
