Leo Durocher was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1994. Durocher was a baseball lifer, playing almost 20 seasons as a player and managing for almost another 30. Durocher won four World Series championships (two as a player, two as a manager) and was a three-time All-Star. The cover of the contract reads, “AMERICAN LEAGUE PLAYER’S CONTRACT - The American League Base Ball Club of New York - Leo Durocher”. The cover has the signature of E.S. Barnard and is dated, “APR 15 1929”. The body of the contract states that Durocher earns “an aggregate salary of $4,000.” and under the “Special Covenants” section reads, “The said Durocher shall receive an additional sum of $1,000.00 at the end of the 1929 season, provided Manager Huggins recommends it.” Signed on April 12th, the second-to-last page is signed by New York Yankees President Jacob Rudolph and Leo Durocher with his address below. These signatures are done in fountain pen and in our opinion rate a 9+ overall. Accompanied by a full JSA LOA.
