This silver-plated trophy was given to Jack Dempsey when enjoying a three-year break between his stunning victory after being knocked through the ropes by Luis Firpo, and his first meeting with Gene Tunney. The engraved text reads, "To Jack Dempsey In Appreciation of Meritorious Service on Behalf of Our Disable Comrades, June 22, 1924, Disabled Veterans World War, Post No. One, Los Angeles, California." The trophy measures 11" in height. The inside cup appears to have been spray painted silver, but the exterior is unaffected.
