In game five of the 2017 AL Championship Series Masahiro Tanaka pitched seven innings of three-hit ball, striking out 8 hitters and didn’t allow a run as the New York Yankees finally solved Houston Astros nemesis Dallas Keuchel. The Yankees beat the Astros 5-0 to take an important 3-2 lead in the ALCS. Offered in this lot is the jersey Tanaka wore during his playoff gem. On the front left tail is the Majestic manufacturer’s tag size “52”. On this tag is a Steiner hologram serial number “272435”. Adjacent below is a Yankees team inventory barcode with a MLB hologram serial number “JB769925” on it. On the left inseam is a flag tag size “52” reading “100% POLYESTER” with washing instructions. On the right button bath is an additional Majestic tag with the year “2017” and the size “52”. On the left sleeve is a black memorial band in honor of Gene Michael and on the right sleeve is the official “POSTSEASON 2017” patch. On the left chest is the Yankees interlocking “NY” logo. Across the back is the player number “19”. All numbering and lettering is done in navy blue tackle twill. On the rear collar is the official “MLB” logo in navy blue, silver and white. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used in game five of the ALCS and in our opinion shows appropriate use.
